Panopticon are streaming a new song now via
Decibel. ‘Bodies Under The Falls’ is taken from the new album, Kentucky,
released next month. The one man band, helmed by A. Lundr, has always
implemented a beautiful juxtaposition between grandiose black metal and
American folk music and this album “marries traditional coal mining
songs with harsh, expansive black metal”.
When you
first hit play on ‘Bodies Under The Falls’, you could easily be turned off. It
starts with some vexing cacophonies but quickly focuses on the task at hand.
Using the usual stunning lead guitars, string arrangements, searing vocals and
the now infamous banjo, this is Panopticon in excelsis. Listen HERE and await
Kentucky with bated breath.
