Big news
right here – Downfall of Gaia have signed with Metal Blade Records. The German
crust turned post metal band have been doing it DIY for years with a string of
releases, not to mention last year’s stunning split with In The Hearts of
Emperors and heavy touring. It all appears to have paid dividends now as the
band has inked a deal with Metal Blade. The band comments: “We feel quite
honored to be a part of the Metal Blade family and to work with one of the most
notable labels in the world! We are really excited about our Metal Blade debut
and the future! A big thank you to all the people who supported us in any way
during the last years, without you all of this wouldn't be possible!"
The band’s
first release with the label will be their second album, Suffocating in the
Swarm of Cranes, slated for release later this year, the follow-up to 2010’s
Epos. Next month the band will also be playing a select few dates with Vestiges
on their European tour, stopping over in Ireland including a show at The Pint
on July 13th.
