Megaupload is shut down. What happens now?

In case you somehow missed it, yesterday US officials shut down file sharing site Megaupload, the world’s largest file sharing site, and made four arrests of the site’s founders and staff, not in the US, but in New Zealand. This shutdown comes the day after the blackout protest against the now infamous SOPA and PIPA bills.
